Veteran. Educator. Curriculum designer. Narrative Security exists at the intersection of all three.
Narrative Security was founded by a retired U.S. Air Force veteran who spent years operating in environments where information security wasn't a concept — it was a daily operational reality. That background doesn't stay in the past. It shapes every word of every curriculum product.
After retiring from service, the mission shifted to a different kind of frontline: the high school classroom. As a CTE Department Chair and cybersecurity instructor in Hampton Roads, Virginia — the heart of one of the most defense-dense regions in the nation — the need for rigorous, engaging, career-connected cybersecurity education became undeniable.
Standard curriculum wasn't cutting it. Students could define a firewall but couldn't think through an incident. They could pass a multiple-choice quiz but couldn't read a breach scenario and respond. Something had to change.
Narrative Security was the answer. Every product in the catalog is built on a single premise: put students inside the story, and the learning follows. Simulations, games, case files, and narrative series — all mapped to real certifications, all built for real classrooms, all tested on real students who go on to earn real credentials.
The students who walked through these materials have earned CCST certifications, competed in FBLA, and are headed into careers in cybersecurity, defense, and technology. That's the mission.
Standards and objectives don't disappear — they get embedded in a story compelling enough that students engage without realizing they're being assessed. The narrative does the heavy lifting.
Every product is designed to run offline, on a Chromebook, in a class of 30 students with spotty Wi-Fi. No logins. No installations. No IT tickets. Just open it and go.
Certifications matter — employers in Hampton Roads and beyond require them. But a student who understands why a firewall rule matters will always outperform one who memorized the definition. We build for depth; the certification follows.
Cybersecurity education without ethical grounding is dangerous. Every simulation, every scenario, every game in the Narrative Security catalog includes an ethical dimension — because the real world requires it.
